Sales Representative

Hire | North of Boston
Our ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic while being highly motivated, goal orientated, well organized with a strong desire to succeed. This position works with On and Off Premise clients in the assigned territory north of Boston.

Responsibilities

  • Make regular sales calls to off-premise and on-premise customers and to cultivate relationships and satisfaction with service provided
  • Analyze, plan, establish and maintain an efficient and productive daily call pattern in assigned territory
  • Achieve assigned monthly quotas and placement objectives
  • Analyze the total territory and each account to determine the priority selling, promotional and merchandising opportunities
  • Implement and maintain up-to-date accurate records of sales, competitive activity, all accounts in assigned territory
  • Recognize major trends and directions, describe major trends associated with a specific type of market and discuss organization’s position and plans regarding key product trends
  • Install and maintain appropriate point-of-sale/ printed materials within accounts that are clean and current
  • Assist customers with inventory management responsibilities (product availability/new product placement and rotation of stock)
  • Participate in sales projects, account evaluations, proposals, presentations, and other sales related activities
  • Participate in sales meetings, on-site training, and winery/distiller tours to remain educated in company policy and industry trends/developments
  • Assist the company and customers in collection of monies owed within the proper credit terms
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
College Degree
Ability to lift and carry 60 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related discipline
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must maintain strong working knowledge of the Ruby Wines portfolio, including core and innovation products
  • Goal oriented, focused, and assertive individual who needs little direction or supervision
  • Thrive on creating and selling innovative ideas and demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to calculate discounts
  • Excellent verbal communication skills direct with customers on the telephone and in person
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Availability to work nights or weekends if needed
  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor)
  • Physical demands with activity or condition include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • Physical demands required daily lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 60 pounds

Compensation

Commission based plus incentive programs
