Looking for something new? Ruby Wines has added the following wines and spirits to our ever-expanding portfolio, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to pull the corks, open the bottles and taste these remarkable authentic and diverse new additions with you.

Francophiles rejoice

From the Rhône region in France, we bring you Chateau Beauchene, a family-winery producing Châteunneuf-du-Pape, Côtes-du-Rhône Villages and Côtes du Rhone for 11 generations.  Michael and Dominique Bernard took over the estate in 1971 and are now joined by their daughters Amandine and Estelle, representing the 11th generation. Chateau Beauchêne wines boast strength, finesse and elegance of the Rhône.

Also from the Rhône, we invite you to taste the new offerings from Pierre Jean Villa, who has quickly established himself as one of the most gifted winegrowers of his generation, according to the 2020 Guide to Wine. Located in the Northern Rhône with 17 hectares of vines for major wines spread across the right and left bank of the Rhône” Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Jospeh, Crozes-Hermitage. Pierre Jean Villa is a non-interventionalist, utilizing indigenous yeast and respecting the lunar calendar, allowing him to yield a product that expresses the delicate balance between the typicity of the terroir and the winemaker’s ethics.

Domaine de la Mandeliere, is a beautiful addition to our Chablis portfolio. Created by Robert and Josette Nicolle, the wines are nurtured from bud break to bottle to achieve the most authentic expression of terroir. Grapes are hand harvested and sorted in the vineyard, and the painstaking commitment to quality shines through in this complex Chablis which boasts aromas of stone fruit and apple with floral undertones.

Also from the Loire Valley, we bring you Domaine de la Taille aux Loups, created by pioneer Jacky Blot. Blot first purchased his wines in the 1980’s and transformed the property into an organically-certified vineyard with commitment to natural farming practices and non–interventionist vinification. Blot is one of the inspirational leaders of this growing movement in the Loire Valley and has the highest percentage of any Chenin appellation that is organically grown.

After rising to international fame for his Domaine de la Taille aux Loups wines, Blot acquired Domaine de la Butte in the appellation of Bourgueil during the summer of 2002. He seized upon the opportunity to make equally great reds when he acquired an ideal bloc of Cabernet Franc vines averaging 30 years of age and south facing slope bordered by a protective Domaine de la Butte. Certified organic, site-specific Cabernet Franc, Old Vines, low yields, blocked malo, no battonage are just some of the reasons these wines are exemplary.

Female Winemakers

From Napa, we offer a new limited production of Ride Napa Cabernet, known for untamed, unreal wines that demonstrate absolute power and grace, with accolades to match. Young and full of vision, Winemaker Remington Jorgensen, comes from the Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate, as well as stints at Chateau de Beaucastel and Opus One. She is an exquisite example of the incredible women winemakers busting into the scene and making an impact.

Another female winemaker new on the scene is Trizanne Barnard, the winemaker of Lubanzi, a new addition to our South African portfolio. Stunning wines and a social conscious to match, Lubanzi is the brainchild of young entrepreneurs and explorers Charlie Brain and Walker Brown who wanted to create beautiful Chenin Blancs, Rhône blends, and Rosé in the Swartland of South Africa, utilizing minimal intervention and natural fermentations

Lubanzi’s social and environmental conscious is equally impressive with the Fair for Life Fair Trade Certification; and the B Corp Certified business, ensuring that human rights are safeguarded at every stage of production. Additionally, they are Carbon Neutral; a member of the 1% For the Planet, contributing at least one percent of annual sales to environmental causes; and have pledged 50% of their profits back to the Pebbles Project, a non-profit that works with the low-income families who live and work on South Africa’s Wine Farms.

Summer Whites, Reds and Rosé

We can’t talk about summer wines without containing our excitement for new Sauvignon Blancs. Ocean Road from Australia, capitulates the coastal roads –  shaped by the terroir, influenced by the ocean it delivers an unrivalled experience. Closer to home, in the state of Washington, twice-awarded Winemaker of the Year Charles Smith, has launched his Substance Sauvignon Blanc, a bright expression with minerality and depth and Rainbow Sparkling Rosé, an ode to Pride month, with bright rainbow packaging and a delectable taste.

From Portugal, we offer Lolita, a new red wine with four traditional grape varieties, Tincadeira, Tinta Rotiz, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional, creating an intense flavor of fruit, with a touch of wood and black pepper. We’ve also added Broadbent Spritzy White Vinho Verde and Rosé in Cans. These have long been summertime favorites and now available in 250ml cans for all your on-the-go needs.

Additionally, Ruby Wines is proud to now offer the Le Charmel Rose Côtes de Provence, just in time for summer. With beautiful aromas of raspberries and wildflowers the palate is wonderfully bright and fresh with notes of strawberry and pear. Sustainably farmed and value driven we are excited to welcome the Le Charmel Rosé to the portfolio.

Mont Gravet Rosé comes to us from the Gascony and Languedoc region, sourced from the top producers that the Master and Seger families have worked closely with for many years, representing some of the very best French wine values available anywhere. This full body Pays d’Oc Rosé has lovely aromas of raspberry and blackberry with a long finish.

Organic and Sustainable Value Wines

Available in Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc, each wine is created through sustainable practices in both the vineyard and the winery and represent the purist possible examples of the local terroir as well as the varietals from which they are made.

Shaw Wines, available in Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and a Red Blend are a “bang for the buck” value wine, utilizing only organic grapes. This family-owned winery is certified organic, vegan friendly, gluten free and a zero-waste facility utilizes state of the art winemaking techniques to create an affordable organic wine that delivers quality and value.

New Sprits

We are crushing on the Hunni Sparkling Soju Cans, from the makers of Yobo Soju. Created with organic wheat and California rice, real fruit juices and purees, no artificial coloring or flavoring, low abv and under 100 calories per can, these cans blend Korean and American cultures to reimagine soju for the next generation of soju drinkers. Available in Grape + Ginger Transfusion, Yuzu + Elderflower Sparkling and Peach + Chili Pepper

Also created with no artificial coloring or flavors, low abv and 99 calories, is the Kawama RTD. Created by Lindsay Reed, a recent Harvard Graduate, who envisioned a better RTD during her time at the University and set out to produce an all-natural tequila soda that would have a taste profile appealing to the younger generation of RTD drinkers. A cult following ensued and Kawama has now produced a new combo pack with the Lemon, Lime and Grapefruit flavors due to the incredible response and requests of the brand’s imbibers.

Did we say Tequila? Another great Tequila added to the portfolio is Tequila Adictivo, founded by Gildardo Partida, a third generation tequileros from San Diego whose family has a rich tradition of tequila making and distribution reaching back over 100 years. Created in El Arenal, Jalisco lowlands, which bring earthy fruit flavors through the distillation and a hint of white pepper the agave pinas have been baked in traditional brick ovens and the juice extracted with a Stone Roller Mill. The cooked agave juice is twice distilled and aged in French Oak barrels for three weeks before bottling.

Also new to the spirits portfolio is Ten to One, a contemporary and elevated rum that is reimagining the spirit and tasting experience. Grounded in authentic elements of Caribbean culture and heritage with a narrative that is both compelling and contemporary. Creator Marc Farrell is born and raised in the Caribbean and has a deep sense of appreciation for both the heritage of rum as well as the broader role it places in the Contemporary Caribbean culture. This high-quality spirit challenges the perception of Rum and the occasion for which it might be considered the spirit of choice for today’s consumer.

We also added another brown spirit to our incredible portfolio with American brand, Bare Knuckles Whiskey, created by two lifelong friends, Bill Karlson and John O’Mara who were classmates in the United States Merchant Marine Academy. While both went their separate ways upon graduation, they followed similar paths, both sailing in the merchant marine and serving in the United States Navy Reserve, and eventually leading successful careers in the defense contracting industry. Upon retiring, they set out to create craft spirits with local ingredients, high-quality production methods and a passion that they were excited to share including the development of their art craft distillery built in 2015.

The curious mind of P J Rigney, has created another addition to the Drumshanbo lineup with Drumshanbo Single Malt Glanta – a Limited Annual Vintage whiskey from the famed Shed Distillery in Ireland. Triple-distilled by Head Distiller Brian Taft, this extremely rare Limited Annual Release has been individually numbered and labelled.

Speaking of collector’s editions, Moutai Chun Baijiu has launched a special 12 Zodiac Astrology Edition Special Limited Edition Release Collector’s Series. Distilled from local and sorghum and water, undergoing a 5-year production process. The result is a more fragrant soft and tender Moutai.
